Forum Post: QuickSend does not create the Direct Deposit Advice slip file
Setting up QuickSend for a client. Currently in a test environment with the following setups: MSDSL7.0FP1, SQL2005, Outlook 2007 (with COM objects added.) When I process a payroll check, I get the following in the log file: Quick Send Direct De The email to the receiver could not be created in Microsoft Outlook because the report file is not found d:\PRTEMP\26EAF02635.PDF . I checked the temp folder and the file is not there. Is there some magic to getting this to work? What I've read online so far points to a custom report (not in this case) causing Crystal Reports to hiccough. I know they're behind on the upgrade scale, but this should be working, right? Thanks for any help!

Forum Post: Allowing Invoice to be Vouchered against PO in Another Company
Currently, when entering an invoice in "Voucher and Adjustment Invoice" in the Accounts Payable Module, you are allowed to vouch an invoice for Company A to a PO issued in Company B. Dynamics will warn you that the PO is not assigned to that company, but it allows you to override. Is there a setting in AP setup or Purchasing setup that does not allow this override? Thank you. Hi Lisa As I know, if you don't set priority for Bin location, the system will pick good by method type come along with item and I guess that it is FIFO in this case. So if you want system pick good by Bin location you should try to set priority for it.

Hi Nam The valuation method that is being used is Average costing. Right now all the bins in the site have 0 as their priority. Are you saying that I need to set priority for the bins? In addition, when I had a look at the bins, the quantity being sold was less than what was in both bins. This is what have me a bit confused. I am not sure if the quantities being shown were wrong. For some more information, the shipping option is set to "Ship Complete", CPS is turn off and the quantities are being calculated without any supply or demand options being checked. Any other thoughts. Thanks again for your input.

Our warehouse is divided into Primary bins and Overstock bins, very standard. Our primary bins are permanently assigned to an item, in fact we have two items per bin (majority of our bins, some can have up to 4 items). We have customized our Warehouse Bin Locations to have two items per bin but we do not know how to handle more than two items per bin in SL. Our overstock bins run on a chaos inventory methodology and we can have anywhere from 1 overstock bin per item up to 45 overstock bins. We have implemented a customized solution called "Possible Bin Location". Our customization is bugged and we need to redevelop it. I can provide more details but wanted to start by see if anyone else runs there warehouse this way and how they handle it in Dynamics.

Hi Lisa I think our requirement quite same yours, they want system to pickup good by Bin location until it's empty then move to next Bin. We setup method type for inventory is FIFO and set priority for each Bin location and it run correctly. Of course some time quantity in one Bin location not enough and system has to pickup good in two Bin location.

Hi Andrew I don't really understand your requirement but in our company we have hundred Bin location in a site, some are set primary item, some aren't. Of course there are always have some requirements from users and we try to adjust by work process first before doing a customization.

Hi Nam, My requirements are: Primary Bins - we have two items, up to four items, permanently assigned in our Primary Bins. The standard setup in SL is one item per bin. Do you have multiple items in a primary bin? And if so how to you handle this in SL? In Warehouse Bin Location maintenance we had to add a column and customize an unused field for the 2nd item. We do not know how to do this for the 3rd and/or 4th item. We are almost out of unused fields that we could customize. Overstock Bins - we put our inventory in these bins based on availability of open bins. The same item may not necessarily go into the same overstock bin time after time. We also may move an overstock item out of one overstock bin and into another Overstock or into Primary bin. We are not aware of anything in SL for maintaining/managing overstock bins. Does your company utilize overstock bins? And if so, how do you manage/maintain them in SL?

Hi Andrew SL just support very basis warehouse management function, so we just can customize system to meet some simple requirement. For the first issue, you already customized two primary items in one Bin location so you can add 3 or 4 primary items with the same code. If you lack of field to customize, you can add a custom table to do it, you can search the way to do it in this forum. For the second issue, we setup a temporary Bin location to store all overstock items. This Bin location isn't allowed to sale, just can receive or transfer. You can setup this option in warehouse Bin location maintenance. Finally, if your warehouse management really complicate or your company is a logistic company you should use a third party warehouse management solution because SL can not handle with professional warehouse manager requirement.

Hi Andrew I don't know the SL version you are using but we used to get this error in SL 7.0 SP1 when we set two decimal number for item quantity and somehow when it run to AR the transaction amount and document amount not same and you will get that error. We have find the incorrect transaction between doc and tran to adjust to release that batch. But when we update to SL 2011 SP3 and 2017 we don't get that error any more. May be you have the same issue like me.

Hi Nam the customer is using Average method and they do not want to sell the same item from different bins on one sales order. The problem here is that the quantities in both bins have sufficient quantities for what is being sold so it is not a case where sufficient quantity is not available in one bin so the system is taking from another bin. In fact I didn't see that happening. No priority was set by bin but I believe the customer was set up with priority levels. Regards
