With Microsoft Dynamics SL 2015 set to be released sometime this fall, details of some of the new functionality and features are being released. Among the new things users will see are:
SL 2015 will project enhancements that will enhance the way your staff will manage projects with new features around:
•Multi-Company Processing: Project processes and project reports have been enhanced for situations where customers work across more than one company.
•Multi-Company Security: Project lookup lists now display the project and the associated company. Access to view projects will only be granted to those users who have rights to view them.
•Multi-Currency Project based currency: Project based currency and company based currency are stored for project transactions.
•Taxable Items: AP sales tax, applicable to voucher and adjustment entries, flow automatically to the project or to the task identified.
•Base Resource Management: Assign resources to a project or task from a web based dashboard
Report Enhancements: SL 2015 will have a greater focus on enhanced reporting for the type of things ordinary users see as part of everyday accounting. There will also be greater ease generating reports for management and other non-accounting users
•Reports can be previewed and emailed as an attachment with one click.
•Report Formats will now be unlimited.
•Look up options are available in all look up lists, making it much easier to perform searches.
•Easily create a connection to excel analyze your data.
Web Apps: This feature will play a HUGE role in SL 2015. Web apps provide browser-based access to view and enter data through a tablet, smartphone or desktop machine. In addition to the features currently in SL 2011, SL 2015 Web Apps will include:
• Basic Resource Management Web App: This will allow project managers to quickly view resource assignments by project.
• Source Code for Web Apps: Offering the ability to customize screens by adding/removing fields or by adding code.
