Is there any type of documentation on how to setup a project using the Completed Contract method?  I couldn't find anything in the Knowledge Base.  The PC user manual has the instructions scattered throughout and most of the attention is focused on Percentage of Completion.  I was looking for something that's just focused on Completed Contract.

If no custom tables or views are involved, follow Rick's suggestion to run the synchronize security scenario in SL Database Maintenance. If you still encounter errors, you should post which reports are affected by the SQL upgrade. Starting a SQL profiler trace before launching the report can also help by identifying the statement that is causing the error.

Hi, I have written bug 34949 to follow this issue.  Here are the test steps from that bug.   SL 2015     1 - Attachments Configuration                 Screen                                 Screen: 01.260.00                                 Table: Account                 Upload Destination:                                 Existing File Location                                 UNC: \\somewhere\something                                 *Just point to a valid UNC path   2 - Chart of Accounts Maintenance                 F4 on the first account in the list (1030)                 On the Notes/attachment button, select Attachments                 Click "upload" to upload a new file                 Upload any random file                 Notice it works fine   3 - Still in Chart of Accounts Maintenance                 Select a different account (1040)                 On the notes/attachments button, select attachments                 Click "Link"                 Link to an existing file in the UNC path (the file you uploaded in step 2 is fine)                                 Notice you get the following error: --------------------------- System Message 333 --------------------------- Error reading file The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.. --------------------------- OK   ---------------------------                   In the background, notice it has " http://somewhere/something " in the "location" field                   It seems to be incorrectly switching the UNC path unto a URL.   Thanks for your input

Error 91 - Unable to Publish to the Web.  Please check to see if you have rights and that all fields on the Web Publishing tab in the Catalog are filled in correctly. We get the above error when we use the same report name in the Web Publishing tab as a prior published report.  We never had this issue before as the newly published report would just write over the old report with the same name.  Does anyone know what would cause the error message above? Thanks, Chuck

While not the exact question you asked, VS 2013 Community edition does work with SL 2015.  I have been using it to migrate my SL 2011 projects over to SL 2015.  However, I did have to install VS 2013 Community on a different virtual machine than where I do my SL 2011 project maintenance since, as Cory said, you cannot use VS 2013 on SL 2011 projects.

Is it possible to file W2s electronically if we only produce 35-40 forms?  From what I read, it seems it has to be at least 50 forms.  Also, under reports W-2 forms (Copy A), can we print this out to file with Social Security Administration.  Wasn't sure if the Copy A on Microsoft Dynamics SL meet the IRS specifications.  Thank you!

Megland, I am not sure where you are seeing that you need to have at least 50 W2s to file electronically.  I believe that anyone can file electronically in place of paper filing. While Copy A contains the complete form image you cannot use that to file paper forms unless you have a printer that can print the form using the special red ink (a color that is not picked up while scanning a paper form).  Even if you have a color laser or inkjet, the red is not the correct red.

When viewing a report, it's often helpful to not only be able to drill into the support account and transaction detail, but also into the total rows. With Management Reporter 2012 CU11, you can now drill into those total rows from the web viewer. In the screen shot below, the report is at the financial level, but I want to drill into the Total Revenues line to see what rows make up that calculation.   When I hover over the data in Total Revenues, it becomes a link like the other rows. And when I click it, it drills down and I can see the rows in the total formula.

The special Red Ink that Rick Kerns refers to is called Flint red OCR dropout ink.  The SSA does allow Black and White A copies but only when the form has been pre-approved by the Social Security Administration and assigned a vendor code which Microsoft has not done. Here are the specs for the substitute forms: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p1141.pdf Rick is correct, you can file less that 50 W2's with SSA.  Just make sure that all employees have the W-2 Electronic Reporting Checkbox on the employee screen checked before you create the file.  Unchecked employees will be excluded from the file.   To determine if any employees have this box unchecked, go to the employee report on the Dynamics SL menu. From the report tab, change the format to summary. Then go to the select tab. In the field do a lookup (F3 or double right click) and select employee.magw2. In the operator select equal and in the value enter 0.  This will produce a list of anyone who has this box unchecked.  If you find any who will receive a W-2 in 2014, go to employee maintenance and check the box before creating the electronic file. The SSA site for uploading is straight forward and surprisingly easy top use.

Hello, My users are having an issue with the GLsetup screen. When they try and save any changes they get the below error message. I believe the error is being caused by a customization (audit module) since I don't get the error in standard mode. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks

Is it possible to re-open closed periods? I just discovered that the bank reconciliations were not completed so I need to re-open the GL so I can go in and complete the reconciliations and then re-close the GL when they are all complete. in Microsoft Dynamics SL

I must have misread the 50 forms when I was reviewing the SSA business services online website.  For some reason, I thought I wasn't able to upload less than 50 W2s with SSA. Thank you for your help!

Lewis, Did you happen to just update from SL 2011 to SL 2011 FP1 or possibly SL 2015?  The glsetup table changed with SL 2011 FP1 adding a new field.  If your customization was built for SL 2011 or earlier, it will have to be modified for the new layout of glsetup.
